João Ângelo Rodrigues Paciência, graduated in Architecture from Lisbon Superior School
of Fine Arts in 1970.

He lectured there for 10 years ( 1982-1993) as well as in
Lusíada University in Lisbon.

Since 1981, he has his own Office, where he develops several types
of projects, with the collaboration of a small team of young
architects.

He has also worked in partnership with some international
architecture offices ( INBO Architekten of Amsterdam , in
the late 80’s; EDAUSA e Eduardo Leíra of Madrid, in the
early 90’s; Ricardo Boffill ,also in the early 90’s; Jean
Nouvel in the beginning of the year 2000.

He has participated in several national and international
planning / construction competitions (Hospitals, Railway
stations, Football Stadiums and Concert Halls, among others)along with big construction firms.

He has developed residential projects in Oporto, Aveiro,
Coimbra, Óbidos, Lisbon, Cascais, Almada, Tróia, Vilamoura
and more recently important hotel projects (Sheraton Porto
Hotel & Spa, Meliã Capuchos Hotel & Spa in Almada, Hotel
Altis Marquês in Lisbon, Quinta da Marinha Hotel, Hotel
Atlântico in Estoril, Hotel Guia in Cascais, Hotel Orchid
Suites in Quarteira, etc.)

In the latest years, he has designed pieces of furniture
integrated in a Interior Design Activity that has grown a
major importance in his curriculum. |
